About the Program of Europneumo-8. Due to exceptional demand, the 8th Europneumo meeting will have an unprecedented 160 participants. The final schedule and meeting session topics are indicated below. Except for the invited Saturday lecture, the length of all presentations will be a uniform 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes open discussion. Plenty of time will be available for informal discussions during poster exhibitions and social events. Presentations of Europneumo-8 will be in the Lecture Hall of ITQB, which is equipped with all modern projection facilities and communication equipment and expert assistance. Presentations should be brought along on PC compatible pen drives. Lunch, coffee breaks and poster presentations will also be held there.
Schedule of the meeting. The meeting will begin at Hotel Praia Mar on Saturday, April 14th, 2007 at 6 pm with a keynote lecture by Jean-Pierre Claverys followed by a dinner. Full day morning and afternoon sessions will be held on Sunday and Monday at ITQB, ending with a half-day session on Tuesday morning.
The morning programs will begin at 8:15 am and will end with lunch break between 12:15 and 1:00 pm followed by the afternoon session, which should end at 6 pm. Bus transportation from the hotel to ITQB and back will be provided. Buses will be leaving the Hotel for ITQB every morning promptly at 7:40 am and leaving ITQB at 6:30 pm each afternoon. The afternoon of Tuesday April 17th is reserved for a guided tour to Sintra (UNESCO town of World Heritage), and to Cabo da Roca the most western point in mainland Europe with its fantastic seascape, ending with a dinner at the seashore. The buses will leave ITQB at 1:30 pm and will bring the participants to Hotel Praia-Mar after dinner.
NEW!! FREE Satellite Symposium:
The free Symposium of PREVIS (Pneumococcal Resistance Epidemicity and Virulence – an International Study) will take place on April 18, 2006 from 8:15 am to 4 pm. The symposium will take place at ITQB and bus transportation as well as coffee breaks and lunch will be provided to the Europneumo registered participants free of charge.

The official language of the Symposium is English.
As at past meetings, scientific sessions will be a mixture of oral presentations and poster sessions.
Oral presentations have been selected from submitted abstracts by the Scientific Committee.
Authors whose abstracts have been accepted and had not been selected for oral sessions will have their presentations included in a poster session.
